Bring on the new

and the old. This week we added 3 new Featherproof titles. 2 are completely new and the third is an early hit:

    1. The Universe in Miniature in Miniature Patrick Somerville
    2. Daddy’s Lindsay Hunter
    3. Sons of the Rapture Todd Dills

Also, Featherproof have launched an excellent new thing: the paper cave: a curated bookstore of ever changing gems. Love the idea! Stop by if you’re in Chicago: The Paper Cave, 2542 W. Chicago Ave. , Chicago, IL 60622-8366; open Tuesday – Saturday 12-6 pm and by appointment.

Also this week: Ted Chiang’s awe-inspiring debut collection, Stories of Your Life and Others, back in print after a couple of years away and available in multiple formats.

Who thinks it’s great? How about . . . Junot Díaz: “Shining, haunting, mind-blowing tales . . . this collection is a pure marvel. Chiang is so exhilarating so original so stylish he just leaves you speechless. I always suggest a person read at least 52 books a year for proper mental functioning but if you only have time for one, be at peace: you found it.”

    Mm-hmm!

Coming soon: super secret things with limited availability! Joy Williams! More indie presses! Drop us a line if there are things (“things”!) we should be doing and in the meantime, happy reading!
