Weightless Books

October just nosed by August to be the busiest month yet for Weightless—thank you! Michael has been hard at work behind the scenes building a subscription plug-in/widget/thingy which means that when the new issue of LCRW comes out later this month we might be able to offer electronic subscriptions. The idea is that we then slowly open that up to other zines/magazines (paper + electronic) so that you could have half a dozen different subscriptions all through one handy site: Weightless! A new center of gravity for indie publishing!

Between receiving the World Fantasy Award for “The Pelican Bar” and Friday’s review of What I Didn’t See and Other Stories in the San Francisco Chronicle, Karen Joy Fowler’s collection was the fastest mover in the last few days of the month but it wasn’t enough to challenge the ever strong Ginn Hale or the newest issue of The Fairy Tale Review. And there were quite a few titles bubbling up just below them, showing us that there’s quite a diverse readership finding the site. So thanks for that and do tell your friends!
