The Best of Beneath Ceaseless Skies Online Magazine, Year Nine

A young artificer and a young inventor fight society to make a place for themselves and their work…

A veteran reunites with a lost comrade in an amnesty city that cocoons anyone who considers violence…

A foreign balladeer struggles for her family and her reputation in a town seething with border strife…

Rivers trapped in bipedal form stir rebellion against the empire that imprisoned them…

These and other awe-inspiring stories await in The Best of Beneath Ceaseless Skies Online Magazine, Year Nine, a new anthology of sixteen stories from Beneath Ceaseless Skies, the six-time Hugo Award-finalist online magazine that Locus online credits with “revive(ing)… secondary-world fantasy as a respectable subgenre of short fiction, raising it from the midden of disdain into which it had been cast by most of the rest of the field.”

The Best of BCS, Year Nine features such authors as A.M. Dellamonica, Gregory Norman Bossert, Rose Lemberg, Richard Parks, Margaret Killjoy, and Charles Payseur.

It includes “The Orangery” by Bonnie Jo Stufflebeam, a finalist for the Nebula Awards, and “Carnival Nine” by Caroline M. Yoachim, a finalist for the Nebula, Hugo, and World Fantasy Awards.
